Based in
Gloucestershire, I have loved and drawn horses and other animals since
I was very young.
I generally
work in pencil (plain graphite or colour) and colour pastels. I
use photographs which can be taken on site or could be your own if you
have a special picture that you feel has captured the character of the
subject. I am able to work from any suitable clear pictures;
these can be e-mailed or posted. I can also combine different
pictures to create the pose required (see the 'about' section).
I feel that the personality of the animal should be reflected in the
portrait and so spend a great deal of time making sure that the right
pose is selected. It also helps the work enormously if I know
something about the animal; quirks, likes, dislikes, history etc.
Prices start
from £150 (including p & p) for a 'simple' black and white portrait
that would fit onto a sheet of A3 sized paper (roughly 29.7 X 42cm or
approx 16.5" x 11.5"), colour drawings start at around £250.
Increased detail such as tack or a particular background would affect
the price, which includes any postage. However if you are not
sure what you would like perhaps I can offer some advice as to what
might be suitable and provide a quote. Vouchers can also be
purchased as gifts - very useful to give to friends and family,
especially if you would like the 'owner' to be involved in choosing
their animal's portrait.
